Driving on LPG You are unlikely to be
able to feel the difference between running on Petrol or LPG.
Theremay bea very small drop in power, but most peopledon't
feel any change in performance at all. The only change will be
on your dashboard, where a small self contained switch will be
in place, and a new filling up point to the rear of the
vehicle.
Dashboard Switch
or Commutator Inside the car in a
convenient position you will have a Dash Board mounted switch.
This has two functions, firstly it tells you whether you are
running on LPG or Petrol, and secondly, an array of LED's
(small lights) give you an indication of how much fuel is left
in your LPG tank.
This is probably
the only thing that the end user regularly comes into contact
with. It will tell you at start upwhen the system has
changed over to LPG, and if at any stage you run out of LPG
fuel, it will give an audio and visual indication that you are
now back on petrol and its time to fill up. Should you wish,
you can also use this switch to manually turn to Petrol or LPG
simply by pressing it, and this can be done on the
move.
Refueling Filling up with
LPG is a very simple process, the forecourt pumps are
very similar to the ones you're used to seeing, the difference
between refilling with LPG and Petrol is the re-fueling gun,
it is a lot broader than the petrol version,it fits onto
the fill point on the car and with a twist of the barrel to
locate it correctly on the fill point (rather similar to the way you would fit a domestic light bulb, push in and twist),
then a quick pull back on a lever to make a gas tight seal,
flip the small latch at the end off the trigger to secure, you
are now ready to press the button on the fuel pump and refill
your tank. All in all a very simple process with a little
practice. (if your at all unsure your Installer will be happy
to take you through the procedure)
Where
toRefuel With between 1200 and
1300 LPG filling stations nation wide, you are never very far
from fuel. There are dedicated websites that will help with
locating garages who supply LPG. With this information you can
locate all your local LPG forecourt's or easily plan a longer
journey with Google maps, or the LPG filling station directory
that we can supply if needed. There are also satellite
navigation maps for the most popular 'SAT NAV' systems and you
will find links on our Links Page to access them.
